TUESDAY CLUB OUTREACH

This event took place at the Milkhope Centre in the Blacksmith's cafe. Although it was very busy customers still stopped to ask question at this our first outreach event in 2019

KILLINGWORTH J.C.P. OUTREACH

This event took place at Killingworth job centre Centre. Along with a colleague we did a short talk to the staff about living with stroke followed by a blood pressure session, many questions were also asked about communicating with stroke survivors in this outreach event.

LADIES FELLOWSHIP OUTREACH

This event took place at ELSDEN AVE, CHURCH and held in their community centre rooms. This consited of a powerpoint display on Stroke Awareness and Prevention. this was well received judging by the thank you letter we receved (see gallery)

VIRGIN MONEY H.Q. GOSFORTH OUTREACH

Our group was represented, and contributed, at a stroke awareness seminar held for staff at Virgin Money. This was well received and we were given many congratulations for our efforts

Our group visited Morpeth Northumberland and set up in the Larder  Cafe where we answered questions from the general public while enjoying a nice cuppa

DWP PRESENTATION

Our group was represented by our chairman at a event in Gateshead where a short staff instructional video way aired for the first time, in which Stroke ambassaadors, including our Chairman, explain the many problems stroke survivors face when trying to access DWP services

SCHOOL OUTREACH

We were invited to Cramlington Senior learning village by our patners in the Stroke Assoc. to be part of their Presentation to 350 pupils as part of our outreach work. It was a pleasure to pass on the  Stroke Awareness message to so many inquizative minds

HARTLEPOOL OUTING

Our first group outing was to Hartlepool Maritime Centre. A wonderful day out accessable by all our members and the weather was bright but a little cold. We would like to thank the staff at the centre for insuring we had a happy and informative day out

Representing the Stroke Assoc. our chairman attended an event in Glendale Hall Wooler Northumberland with vaarious other bodies in the heathcare sector. Answwering questions from the general public

We attended an event with members of the Stroke Assoc. at Coach lane campus. The session was givento post grad. social service students and was well received

Sports day

Members of our group attended a Stroke Support Group sports day event at The Beacon of Light facility in Sunderland organised by the Stroke Assoc.

We feel that it is important in this age of support group closures that we support one another where possible

Sping lunch

We held our spring lunch at AMERETTE's on Cowpen road Blyth this year.The food was excellent and the manager and chef were wonderful. Feedback from members has been excellent and once again we have proved that good social interaction with friends is always the best way to deal with the pressures of living with stroke
